Symbol Test Page

This page contains tables of the symbols used on this website. These symbols are gathered here to test whether your system displays them correctly. However, these tables may also serve as a guide to the symbols defined on this website.

In these tables the column labeled "Font" contains the symbol rendered as a font. On the other hand, the column labeled "Image" contains the symbol rendered as a graphical image, "NI" (for "No Image") if the symbol can usually be displayed on any computer system without adding new fonts, or "To Do" if the image has not yet been created. With the last two exceptions, the graphical image for each symbol should be visible on all web browsers that are designed and set to display images.

For each symbol the contents of the "Font" and "Image" columns should match relatively closely. If instead you see something else—perhaps a blank space, or some combination of one or more nonsensical symbols, question marks, or boxes containing whatever—you may need to adjust a setting of your currently installed web browser. However, you may also need to install a new browser or some new fonts. See the section "Fonts and Browsers for Viewing This Website" for more information.

Note:  The entry for the symbol numbered 8-alt in the "Font" column is an approximation rendered in the Code2000 font. If you have not installed the shareware Code2000 font on your computer you will not see this entry or you may see a version without the top and bottom horizontal bars. The exact symbol displayed in the "Image" column does not have a central vertical bar. This symbol is not used anywhere else on this website.
